New Year, New Look

For those of you new to Green Chef, welcome! For those of you who have been here before, you may notice things are a bit different. We’ve got a brand new look, from our website and logo, to our recipe cards and boxes. We hope you like what you see.

Who we are

Ever since Green Chef was just a conversation between a few friends in the Rockies, we’ve been about deliciously simple dinners — designed for you, cooked by you.

We believe cooking should be:

• For everyone: New and seasoned chefs alike.

• Good for all: For you and the environment.

• Right for you: Because when it comes to food, one style never fits all.

• Discovery: A journey through new techniques, flavors, and dishes.

Delight: A joy, not a hassle. Big on fun, light on pressure.

And that’s how we designed Green Chef. With thoughtful attention to detail, a range of diets in mind, and a deep focus on quality, health, environment, exploration, and ease.

You choose the menu that fits your lifestyle (or weekly whim). We handpick sustainably and ethically produced, organic, seasonal ingredients. Then we send them to you — fresh, pre-measured, and even prepped — along with diverse, easy-to-master, chef-crafted recipes. You get nourishing, delicious dinners on the table in just about 30 minutes. One you can feel truly great about.

So, how does our new design express all that? We decided to keep it simple:

The Elements

Natural palette
Neutrals and greens to express our reverence for nature, dedication to organic, care for the environment, and purity of ingredients.

Pops of color
Warm, sunny colors reminiscent of a morning at the farmhouse and the comfort of a home-cooked meal. These colors also represent our diversity of ingredients and flavors— and the delight of trying new ones. As always, we use color to simplify your prep. The color of your Green Chef recipe card = the color of the labels on the ingredients for that dish.

Less is more
We pared things down wherever possible, in honor of whole, natural ingredients, a minimal footprint, the simple joy of cooking, and ease and efficiency.

You’ll find these elements across our website and in our new logo and packaging.

The Updates

The Logo
The cutting board is the starting point for every meal. A blank slate. It’s the beginning of each new creation, in our kitchen and yours. It’s a place that we can all come back to, no matter how hectic life is, and make something good for ourselves. Its green hue captures our ecocentric spirit, and focus on making cooking accessible for even the greenest of chefs.

The Packaging
Look out for our new boxes in the coming weeks. We’ve updated more than just their graphics. While our packaging has always consisted of recycled, recyclable, reusable, and compostable materials, we know there’s always room for improvement. That’s why we’re continually researching ways to further minimize our impact. Our new boxes are just as sturdy as our original boxes, but 24% lighter. Expect more improvements (and less packaging) in the coming months.

The Recipe Cards
For our new recipe cards, we kept the focus on what we love: the food. The most obvious place you’ll see this is with the expanded plated photo that graces the front of the card. Gone are our equipment icons; we hope you find the written list a quicker, easier read. We also added an ingredient count — a tool we like to use to quickly confirm we have all the ingredients once we’ve gathered them by label color.

The Rest
We’ve refreshed the rest of Green Chef, too, from our website and photography, to our ingredient labels.

We hope you enjoy the new Green Chef. As always, we welcome your feedback! Please send your questions, comments, or concerns our way at feedback@greenchef.com.

Yay for less packaging. I think when I need any ingredient for more than 1 meal, it would be fine to put it in 1 container and put on the label to divide it – or put both colored labels on the same container.
I’m also wondering if there could be a way to return the cool paks for reuse.
