Tips for Managing Keto Diet Macros Like a Boss

With this handy guide, you can easily customize your Green Chef Keto meals so they satisfy your macro goals and personal tastes.

Limit Carbs

Green Chef Keto meals typically contain less than 20g net carbs per serving, and many meals fall in the 10-15g range. We use the term “net carbs” to estimate total carbohydrate content minus the fiber content of the meal.

While we avoid any keto-unfriendly produce like tubers and sugary fruits, we always provide a hearty portion of low-glycemic vegetables. You can limit your carb intake and still enjoy a filling meal by saving some veggies for later.

Our pre-made sauces are also generously portioned to be added to taste. Simply set aside some sauce, and some carbs along with it, to meet your macros. And if you weren’t already thinking it: You can enjoy any extra veggies and sauces together! Green Chef makes for great leftovers, after all.

Boost Fat

Green Chef’s keto-friendly meals aren’t always high in fat, which makes it easy for you to customize fat content using different cooking oils and simple substitutions.

Here are some quick tips from our chefs to boost fat:

  • Add extra sour cream or mayo to a sauce for creamier texture and taste.
  • Finish sautéed veggies with heavy cream, or melt in some cheese for extra richness.
  • Top veggies or protein with soft cheese crumbles. Yum!
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over veggies or salads.
  • Add avocado slices to any dish. Who doesn’t love avocado?
  • Use more oil or a variety of oils when cooking proteins or sautéing veggies.
  • Dip veggies in your favorite cooking oil, or drizzle some over the top.
