Green Chef’s Pumpkin Spice Latte

Fall is here, which means so is pumpkin everything. We love ourselves a pumpkin spice latte as much as the next person, but once we took a deep dive into the less-than-healthy ingredients out there, we found ourselves wondering if we could do it better.

As it turns out, we can! We put our Green Chef spin on the ever so famous PSL. Hint, one of the tricks is using actual pumpkin.

Our crafty chefs also whipped up chai, reduced-carb, and vegan versions, so no one has to miss out on this seasonal sensation. 

Here is our better-for-you version:

Spice Blend:

  • 3 t cinnamon
  • 2.5 t ginger
  • 2 t nutmeg
  • 1 t allspice
  • .5 t clove

PSL Standard Recipe

  • 3 T pumpkin puree
  • 1 t spice blend
  • 1 C milk
  • 2-3 T maple syrup
  • 2 shots of espresso and/or strong coffee
  • Top with whipped cream

In a small bowl mix pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and spice blend together. Warm 1 cup of your preferred milk. Once warm, add pumpkin puree mixture. Brew coffee and add to a mug. Pour milk + pumpkin mixture into the mug. Stir to combine. Top with whipped cream and spice mixture. Enjoy!
